Endler to face vehicular manslaughter charges An investigation by Amherst Police Traffic Bureau and consultation with the Erie County District Attorney's office has led to additional charges in a fatal accident that happened on Eggert Road Aug. 15. Robert L. Endler, 30, of Williamsville is scheduled to appear before Judge Jeffrey Klein in Amherst Town Court on Thursday to be arraigned on charges of second degree vehicular manslaughter, a D-felony; driving while impaired by drugs, an A-misdemeanor; possession of marijuana and traffic violations of imprudent speed, speeding over the posted limit and not wearing a seatbelt. Through witness statements and investigation of the scene police were able to determine the additional charges. Shortly after the accident Endler was charged with reckless driving. The accident at Eggert Road and Niagara Falls Boulevard on Aug. 15 claimed the life of Tina M. McCarthy of Buffalo. Her vehicle was struck from behind by Endler's at a high rate of speed. Two other people in other vehicles, including McCarthy's boyfriend, were injured. |
