Improvement plans to address flooding

     After presenting the proposed Capital Improvements Projects for the 2007 budget process at a recent work session, Planning Director Rick Gillert said the list has already changed. Some of the added projects will address the flooding issue in Town.

     Amherst Central's Andre Hakeem and Chris Brunetto join forces to tackle Williamsville North's T.J. McDuffie during the Tigers' 28-6 home victory last Thursday. The Tigers' defense caused three turnovers. It was Amherst's third consecutive win.

AAA plans Car Care Fair
     To ensure motorists' vehicles are up to par before winter, AAA will hold a Car Care Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30 at the AAA Travel Center, 100 International Drive, Amherst.

Intoxicated man facing felony charges for 'crashing' wedding on Saturday
     A man with severe hand lacerations, also described as intoxicated and acting irrationally, was treated at Erie County Medical Center and charged by Amherst police.

Endler to face vehicular manslaughter charges
     An investigation by Amherst Police Traffic Bureau and consultation with the Erie County District Attorney's office has led to additional charges in a fatal accident that happened on Eggert Road Aug. 15.
