Center for Senior Services Editor's note: the following programs will be held at the Amherst Center for Senior Services, 350 John James Audubon P a r k w a y. LOUNGE PROGRAM will be held at 12:45 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25 for a game of Scattergories, the classic thinking game. No fee, but make reservations at the volunteer desk, 636-3059. For more details, contact Jennifer at 636-3055 ext. 112. WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY will be the program at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22. Karen Allen, a certified reflexologist, will educate people about it. Refreshments will be served. The fee is $2. Make reservations at the volunteer reception desk, 636-3059. CHRYSANTHEMUM SALE will be held at 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20 at the Senior Center. All proceeds benefit the Amherst Center for Senior Services. CALLING 911 will be taught from 10:30 a.m to noon Thursday, Oct. 5 by Jim Zymanek, director of emergency services for the Town of Amherst. Contact Deborah Zimmerman at 636-3055 ext. 130 if interested in attending. LINCOLN LORE will be held Wednesday, Oct. 11 for an Abraham Lincoln program presented by Michael Valentic. Not only can he dance, but he is also a Lincoln historian. There is no fee but make reservations at the volunteer reception desk, 636-3059 by Friday, Oct. 6. BOOK LOVERS CLUB will discuss "Girl with a Pearl Earring" by Tracy Chevalier at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28. "March" by Geraldine Brooks will be discussed at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26. BIRTHDAY PARTY LUNCHEON will be held at noon Tuesday, Sept. 26. Celebrate birthdays for the months of September and October. NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 21. All new members are invited to attend and current members are also welcome to attend for a refresher. Call the volunteer reception desk, 636-3059, with both your new member orientation and nutrition lunch reservations. SAVE THE DATE Wednesday, Oct. 4 is the second annual Healthy Aging Conference. PANCAKE BRUNCH Amherst Meals on Wheels will be hosting its second annual Pancake Brunch at the the Center on Monday, Oct. 23. Brunch will be served in the dining room from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information and ticket prices, call Amherst Meals on Wheels at 636-3065. TRADITIONAL GERMAN OKTOBERFEST will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25. It will be an old fashioned Oktoberfest Dance. The fee is $5 for members and $7 for non-members and includes Black Forest cake and coffee. Knockwurst/Sauerkraut sandwiches and pretzels will be sold for an additional cost. For reservations call 636-3059. BEING YOUR BEST AND MANAGING STRESS will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 12. This is an 90-minute workshop which teaches four steps to prevent or control any illness. For reservation call 636-3059.
