Community Plan meets after two-month break

The Community Plan Committee met with George Grasser, president of Partners for a Livable Western New York, to conduct a walk of the Village of Williamsville Thursday.

This was the first time in more than two months that members of the committee met. At the last meeting, before June 12, peter j. smith & company quit as the consulting firm on the 20/20 vision project.

The members conducted the walk, then reconvened to discuss the Main Street Business District and how it can be improved, according to an e-mail received from village officials.

Partners for a Livable Western New York provided suggestions on "smart growth and new urbanism" and how to build a better neighborhood at no cost to the village.

The next Community Plan meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26 in Village Hall, 5564 Main St. in Williamsville.

A consulting firm has not been named to replace peter j. smith & company, which resigned in June. The Village Board may hire a new firm by resolution.
