Michael Sawicki, 51, of Getzville, who was heavily involved in Town of Amherst youth sports, died Monday, Sept. 4, 2006, in Lockport.
Born in Buffalo, Mr. Sawicki graduated from Seneca Vocational Schools.
Mr. Sawicki was the owner of "I Can Fix It."
He was past vice president of Amherst Youth Hockey, an Amherst House Youth Hockey coach, goalie coach for Williamsville North High School varsity hockey, and senior goalie instructor at Todd Marchant Hockey School. He was also a Lou Gehrig Youth Baseball coach, a past member of Tan Tara Golf Club and member of Golf Club Makers Association.
Mr. Sawicki enjoyed woodworking, golf, hockey, music (former owner/DJ of Trak Stars), and playing guitar. Most importantly he liked coaching and watching his sons play hockey, football, and lacrosse.
Mr. Sawicki is survived by his wife, Susan M.; two sons, Benjamin Michael and Alexander Edward of Getzville; parents, Mary and Edward, and a sister, Karen Makowksi.
Prayers were held Friday, Sept. 8 from Amigone Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial from St. Pius X Church.
