Community Briefs The Amherst Democratic Committee will be holding a lecture concerning global warming at its next monthly meeting, 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19 at the auditorium of the Harlem Road Community Center, located on Harlem Road between Wehrle Drive and Main Street. The speaker will be Walter John Simpson, who has long studied this issue. C. Jaclyn Tseng of Amherst was recently awarded a juris doctor degree by New York Law School at its 114th annual commencement ceremonies at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall. She is one of 457 members of the class of 2006. William D. Schulz of Snyder has been named chair for the Presbyterian Senior Care of Western New York Foundation, Inc.'s board of directors. This is his third term. Also named was Mary Collins of Snyder as treasurer, and Dr. John R. Wright was re-elected a director of the Senior Care Board. The foundation, located in Williamsville, operates Presbyterian Village at North Church in the village. |
