Put America's interests first

It's official - Americans are working harder and producing more - but earning less. The government's own figures prove that the failed economic policies of Rep. Tom Reynolds and his contributors are hammering hardworking Americans.

The New York Times on Aug. 28 had a report on government figures which show the median hourly wage for American workers is down 2 percent since 2003, after factoring in inflation. That's especially galling because productivity - the amount that an average worker produces an hour - has risen steadily over the same period. In plain English, workers are producing more and getting paid less.

The Commerce Department's own figures confirm that workers are taking home less, while corporate profits are climbing. Economists blame the job-killing policies of so-called free trade for the plight of American workers.

Tom Reynolds wants us to believe the economy is great. It may be great for him and Washington insiders, but hardworking Americans are getting hammered. Good paying jobs are being destroyed, wages are down and health care costs and gasoline prices are up

Tom Reynolds must put the interests of hard-working Americans first. Right now, he is doing more for workers in China and Mexico than Americans.
