He is simply managing - something the town and its employees are not apparently familiar with. .I voted for Debbie Bucki, and am so disappointed! If she wants more open government, voting on term limits without a referendum is not the way to go. We should have had a chance to vote on such an important subject. .I note with great interest that Satish Mohan is now out on the campaign trail stumping for other candidates for office outside Amherst. He is now finding time to interject himself in politics. For a guy who claims he is not a politician and wants to reform, maybe he should direct his efforts to doing his research so that he can govern the town. Right now, the town is headed for disaster. .There has been enough police bashing in this column. On the contrary, I had two good experiences with two fine Amherst police officers this week. First, my compliments to Officer McGarvey who handled a family situation very well for us. Secondly, to Det. Sgt. Pirachi, who politely interviewed me as a reference for a person's pistol permit. We need more police, not less, to help residents such as myself. .Well, Supervisor Mohan said if he was guilty of any wrongdoing with his basement, he would resign. I see in the paper today, 14 violations. So, I'm waiting to see if the supervisor is truly a man of his word and is going to resign. .Part of the blame for the tragic state police shooting has be placed squarely on the shoulders of those Southern Tier scoundrels who thought the banditry of Ralph Phillips was a funny game, as well as on the folks in the NRA and conservatives who support semi automatic rifle gun ownership. .To all the people complaining about the quality of life and services being reduced due to our town supervisor trying to balance the town budget, would they let us know how they intend to solve the problem? Most people in the town are concerned about ever-escalating taxes. Unlike individuals, the town can't put this on the credit card. Let's start having services we can afford; it's how you get responsible government. I know it's not the way things are done today, but it is the way to preserve our future well-being. .I was reading the editorial about applying drunk driving sentences equally. I'm that Good Samaritan, and there's more to the story than what you wrote, like the guy was on probation and he wasn't supposed to be driving because he has a suspended license. He wasn't allowed to drink nor drive, so that adds to the sentencing. .About the $5,000 well-wishing supporter, well, I do believe it, so there is one person. We think Satish is doing a great job! These poor employees, we're so tired of seeing them sitting in their trucks doing nothing or sitting on the side of town hall smoking cigarettes. .I just walked the bike path in the Town of Clarence, and they added more bike path right up to Transit Road. I'm wondering if their Rails to Trails concept is ever going to catch on in the Town of Amherst. Why can't we do the same thing in our town? .I am employee in the Village of Williamsville and I took my break at Island Park and was observed by a rat! I want to bring your attention to this matter. It seems they're ever ywhere! .I want to voice my admiration for the job Supervisor Mohan is doing for our town. I consider him to be a quintessential representative custodian of the public trust in the highest sense. We have just recently relocated here and I have seen several instances where Mr. Mohan's style of management has led to fiscal responsibility, a solvent town budget and overall budgetary balances. It is exactly what the electorate looks for. I think the town supervisor is on the mark and is doing a fine job! .Good job for voting down Wal-Mart. Let's hope more progressive moves like that are made in this town. I wish people would get over their fear of change and accept that Satish Mohan is bringing change that is good for us at this time!. .I have also tried to reach the supervisor regarding the condition of my street. My calls are never returned. I think he is doing a fine job, which is why I wanted to talk to him regarding this matter, which dates back seven years. |
