Enchanted evenings

Theatre-goers to the Lancaster Opera House will be headed to a tropical locale when Coop's Spotlight Productions presents "South Pacific."

Rodgers and Hammerstein's mosaic of love, loss and loyalty on the South Pacific islands during World War II provides romance complicated by interracial connections.

The musical features classic songs such as "Some Enchanted Evening," "Gonna Wash That Man Right Out of My Hair," and many more.

"South Pacific" features Carolyn Johnson as Nellie Forbush, Chris Turton as Emile de Becque, Teresa Bock as Bloody Mary, Tim Stuff as Lt. Cable, and Joey Bucheker as Luther Billis.

Performances are at 8 p.m. Sept. 15, 16, 22, 23 and 30; 7:30 p.m. Sept. 21 and 28; 2:30 p.m. Sept. 17, 24, and Oct. 1; 2 p.m. Sept. 28; and 8:30 p.m. Sept. 29 for Curtain Up!

Tickets are $16 for adults, $14 for students and seniors and are available by calling 683-1776. For groups, call 683-3032.
