Notice is hereby given of the adoption of a Local Law No. 10 - 2006, "A Local Law To Establish Term Limits For Elected Officials In The Town Of Amherst." This Local Law was adopted at the Town Board meeting held August 21, 2006.

The Local Law amends the Town Code of the Town of Amherst by adding Chapter 55 to limit terms of office for elected officials in the Town of Amherst. Effective with the November 2007 general election, all elected officials of the Town of Amherst will be limited to two consecutive terms in office in the same office to which they are elected.

Upon acceptance of this bid, if the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract pursuant to the requirements of the Town, or fails to give further security prescribed in this notice, within, the time limit therein, then the check deposited as aforesaid and the monies standing to the credit of the same, shall be forfeited to the Town of Amherst as liquidated damages or the payment of the bond enforced for the benefit of the Town, and the Village of Williamsville.
