MusicalFare puts on a little boogie woogie

The most successful female singing group of all time is back - and MusicalFare Theatre's got 'em - when "Sisters of Swing: The Andrews Sisters Musical" sashays on stage Wednesday, Sept. 13, through Sunday, Oct. 15.
The first production of the 2006-2007 season, "Sisters of Swing" features Kelly Meg Brennan, Debbie Pappas and Kathy Weese as Patti, LaVerne and Maxene Andrews, the women's vocal group famous during the World War II years. The production also features Phil Farugia and Todd Benzin.
The regional premiere offers an insider's view into the personal and private lives of the singing sisters.
The musical features all of their hit songs, including "Boogie Woodie Bugle Boy," "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree," "Bei Mir Bist du Schon" and many others. It also chronicles their successful pairings with other recording artists such as Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye.
Performances are 7 p.m. Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays, 4 and 8 p.m. Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays. There will be a special half-price performance at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12. Meet-the-cast talk-backs take place after all Wednesday performances, except Sept. 13. The Sept. 29 Curtain Up! performance is at 8:30 p.m.
