Still have not met one person who believes that story. .How come whenever a poll of Satish Mohan is taken, at least 80 percent are in favor of the job he is trying to do? I have a strong feeling one or two people keep calling over and over on this line trying to keep their jobs that are not needed. As for more Amherst Police, if there is as much as a cat up a tree, within five minutes, there will be five to 10 patrol cars blocking the street and driveways, when one or two cars would be plenty. The last thing we need in Amherst is more police! The main reason Amherst is a safe town is because of the people, not the police. I fully support Satish Mohan, as does everyone I talk to. I really hope we don't lose him because of a self-centered town board and police department. .I just read an article about the sinking homes, that they may receive $50 million. Dr. Mohan had better watch out what he's doing because I have a sinking home, and I will be up at town hall to let them know I'm sinking, too. .Now that the town board has voted for an eight-year term limit, when they leave office, does the health insurance stop or do they get life-time health insurance? If they are going to receive life-time health insurance, the town is going to go broke, because every eight years you will have to pay six more people life-time insurance, so that does not make sense. .I'd like to complain about two traffic signals on Maple Road - one is at Sweet Home (a state highway) and the other is at Corporate Parking (town signal). They are not coordinated, and when rush-hour traffic goes down Maple Road (east and west), there are huge backups back to Flint Road (over the 290) and back to the middle school. One signal turns red and other turns green at the same time. Plus there is an ambulance company on Sweet Home Road across from the fire company. When they have an emergency, traffic blocks the intersection and the emergency vehicles cannot get through the intersection. I'd like to see the problem corrected with the state and town sharing the cost. .Regarding the proposed $60 million expenditure to return parking on the downtown subway route, this is nonsensical and dangerous. I can't figure this one, as prior to the subway few people drove to that area to shop and now with all the inviting malls, few people will come. It's better spent money to start the branches as was originally proposed to the North and Southtowns; that has a better chance of helping Buffalo.
.I have two garbage cans, 32-gallon capacity each, with side handles, wheels and solid covers. They are very adequate for me. I put the covers on and leave the covers on, and I have no rats. However, I see up and down the street many people with garbage cans or without garbage cans. Those with garbage cans usually have no covers, because the trash is overflowing. I don't see why I have to buy new garbage totes when these that I have are perfectly suitable and adequate. If everyone else did the way they should, and put covers on and didn't throw their trash around, we wouldn't have such a problem. |
