CHAMPS

CHAMPS - Central Amherst won the 11U Championship at the Mel Ott Extravaganza held Aug. 10-13. They were undefeated going into the playoffs with victories over Connie Mack, 12-0, Mel Ott "B", 6-4, and Lou Gehrig "B", 6-3. They handled South Cheektowaga, 10-2, in the quarterfinals and had a 3-1 victory over Mathewson McCarthy in the semifinals to earn a spot in the championship. Central Amherst and Mel Ott "A" played strong defensive games with Central Amherst winning 3-2.
