Lacrosse festival set for Sept. 3

Player's Sports in West Seneca and STX Lacrosse is bringing the first ever lacrosse festival to Western New York on Sunday, Sept. 3rd at the NIKE Base in Hamburg.

This year's event will feature the world renowned midfielder Kyle Harrison, a member of Team USA and the New Jersey Pride of the MLL.

The festival is a free admission event. Harrison will be running clinics throughout the day for all of WNY's youth and High School Lacrosse players. The kids will learn how to take face-offs, dodge defenders, and shoot harder and more accurately.

Also there will be two featured games; a youth league game with 12U players from Hamburg, Amherst, Clarence, West Seneca, Lancaster, South Buffalo and Frontier youth programs combining. Harrison will play half the game on each team. A second high school all star game will end the festival with Harrison again playing on Both teams. Twelve high schools will be represented in the game.

Player's Sports will be showing off all their new gear and equipment. There will be a DJ spinning tunes all day, food and beverage, and a radar cage. Prizes for all age groups, raffles, and two lined fields pick up games will be available.

Kids attending should come safely equipped to participate in the pick up games that will be organized by age. Many other surprises and guests as well as day long giveaways for the kids are planned.

The festival is the first one ever in WNY. Player's Sports on Michael Road in West Seneca plans on making this an annual affair. It is open to all age groups and skill level. Beginners and pros alike will be catching, throwing, watching, learning and having fun. The event starts at 10 a.m. and will conclude around 6 p.m.
