Francis F. "Bud" White, 70, of East Amherst, retired owner of White Shoe Store in the Mill-Pine Plaza in Niagara Falls, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, in Sisters Hospital.
Mr. White was a 1954 graduate of Niagara Falls High School and attended the University at Buffalo.
Mr. White lived all his life in the Western New York area except during the Korean War when he served in the US Army.
After his discharge from the military, he joined his father in the family business at White Shore
Store in 1956. He then took over the business upon his father's retirement in 1970 and expanded it to the Lewiston, Boulevard, Rochester, McKinley and Galleria Malls. He retired in 1996.
During his career, Mr. White was a member of the Niagara Falls Country Club and the Junior Chamber of Commerce in Niagara Falls. He also belonged to D.E.M. Guys at the Village Glen.
Mr. White is survived by his wife, Kathleen of East Amherst; two daughters, Cheryl Angel of California and Catherine Bowen of Port Colburn, Ont.; three sons, Daniel of Dallas, Texas, Michael of Holmdel, N.J. and Jeffrey of North Tonawanda; a sister, June Griffith of Forest Hill, Md.; and 14 grandchildren.
A Memorial Service was held Friday, Aug. 18 at the Chapel in Getzville.
