DMV satellite location open five days a week

Erie County Clerk David J. Swarts is reminding Amherst residents there is another option for DMV processing.

A satellite location is based at the ECC north campus, corner of Youngs Road and Wehrle Drive, and is open from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Since it opened the satellite location has handled 7,500 motorists.

"When we identified where to establish satellites, location was everything," he said. "We wanted to be positioned to provide convenient sites for Northtowns residents, while recapturing business lost over the border to Niagara County.

With DMV closures in Erie County, Swarts said there was concern of losing business but the response to the satellite has been positive.
