Iraq vet, bride renew vows before family and friends

Sarah Jane Warnes and U.S. Army Capt. Robert James Guagliardi renewed their wedding vows in an evening ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006 at Christ the King Chapel at Canisius College.
The couple was married on Friday, July 29, 2005 one week before Capt. Guagliardi was deployed to Iraq. He returned shortly before the renewal ceremony. They renewed their vows in front of friends and family. The Rev. Michael Burzynski officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Georgiann H. and Norbert C. Warnes of Williamsville. The groom is the son of Shirley A. and John P. Guagliardi of Depew.
The bride was escorted by her father.
She wore a strapless, ivory satin gown with a beaded bodice and scalloped bottom. She wore a custom-made veil with flower appliques and edges scalloped to match the gown. She carried a bouquet of lavender and cream roses.
The maid of honor was Brittany Carr, friend of the bride. The bridesmaids were Lisa Polovick and Stephanie Zaleski, friends of the bride. The junior bridesmaids were Sarah and Laura Savattieri, friends of the bride. The flower girl was Katherine O'Donnell, for whom the bride was a nanny.
The best man was Steven Guagliardi, brother of the groom. The groomsmen were Paul Guagliardi, brother of the groom, and Mark Warnes, brother of the bride. The ring bearers were Ryan and Aidan O'Donnell, for whom the bride was a nanny.
A reception was held at The Buffalo Yacht Club. The couple will spend a week in Ireland for their honeymoon.
