Jason Buckley of Williamsville placed first in America's Fair turkey leg eating contest held Aug. 15 at the fairgrounds in Hamburg. He finished first beating out nine other contestants and won a prize pack including a gift certificate to Medieval Times in Toronto and fair memorabilia. The event was sponsored by BW's BBQ.

Diane Luce of Amherst was presented a community service award from the Louis J. Billittier Foundation. Director of special projects at Heritage Oak Foundation, she was recognized for her leadership, dedication and genuine caring to the community. The foundation raises money for organizations and charities in Western New York.
