Help needed for grandson He has sparkling blue eyes, blazing red hair, and the personality of a circus clown. He also has a specially made wheelchair, leg braces, a feeding tube in his stomach and surgical scars. He is just 6 years old. Zachary Wild was born six years ago with a myriad of afflictions, quadriplegia, a compressed trachea, asthma and a rare congenital brain malformation. Although the veteran of multiple surgeries - including a trip to a Boston children's hospital and many hours in emergency rooms and hospital rooms, Zach has maintained the exuberance and "happy go lucky" attitude of a normal 6-year-old boy. Chris, a stay at home mom, and Scott, a bricklayer, are the parents of three other children, Jordyn, 8, Mackenzie, 3, and Cole, 9 months. They have endured ongoing financial hardships due to the cost of administering to the needs and requirements of Zach's ever changing treatments. Each year requires new and critically vital equipment to ensure Zach's quality of life. In order to assist in financing these ongoing needs of Zach there will be a benefit held on Aug. 27 at the Oakwood Manor located at 2985 Lakeview Road, Lake View from 1 to 6 p.m. For tickets please contact Bill Scully at 648-1486 or Tricia Constantino at 698-2565. If you would like to donate for the Chinese auction or make any type of donation please contact Heather Wood at 824-4085 or Jen Ciccarella at 649-7505. There will also be an account set up for him at Evans National Bank: Zachary Wilde Medical Fund, P.O. Box 2075, Blasdell, N.Y. 14219. Kathy Martin grandmother Eggertzville |
