That's what friends are for Being an educational institution located in Amherst has many perks. However, one benefit may be lesser known than others. When Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart embarked on a multi-faceted, time-sensitive facility improvement project this summer our first question was: "Where can we hold our necessary camps and events this summer with so much of the building under construction?" Well, the answer was as simple as the question - call on our generous neighbors. Thus far this summer, our elementary school basketball camps have been privileged to use the fine facilities provided by Amherst Central School District, through the assistance of Dr. Paul Wietig, deputy superintendent. The other three weeks of Summerspace Camps, found a home through the generosity of St. Benedict's pastor Fr. Gary Bagley and Principal, Mrs. Patricia Boyd. Last, but certainly not least, our annual golf outing luncheon, usually held in Sacred Heart's dining hall, enjoyed the hospitality and outstanding new facilities of Kadimah School. We, at Sacred Heart, count on the assistance of area schools, churches, and businesses and, in return, willingly offer support when asked. This spirit of cooperation adds immeasurably to the "quality of life" character for which our town is known. The sense of positive interaction makes working and, for many of our families and staff living in Amherst, such a fine experience. We believe that it is "location, location, location", and at Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart we are grateful to be situated in this perfectly wonderful location of Amherst, New York, alongside some very good neighbors and friends.
