Dipping into surpluses
Town given two deficit options

     The Town of Amherst comptroller's office is suggesting taking money from two surplus funds to reduce the deficit from $4 million to $1.5 million. That also includes a possible savings from other budget line numbers.

Museum to hold Scottish Festival
     The Amherst Museum will host its 22nd annual Scottish Festival and Highland Games from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19 at 3577 Tonawanda Creek Road in Amherst. The Glengarry Bhoys, Stone Row and Penny Whiskey will play in the entertainment area.
