Come one, come all to America's Fair "The Magic Continues" beginning this Wednesday, Aug. 9, at America's Fair. Gates are scheduled to open at 5 p.m. for the 167th edition of America's Fair, located on McKinley Parkway in Hamburg. Parking and admission for preview night is $2, and ride the midway for $1 a ride. Opening ceremonies will begin at 6 p.m. in the Family Entertainment Zone, and at 7:30 p.m., the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League Tractor Pull begins at the Grandstand. Tickets are $20, $15 and $12. Children under 12 are free with a paid adult. On "Ag Day," Aug. 20, arrive before 11 a.m. and enjoy a discounted early bird admission for $3. Later in the day, stuff your face at either the pie eating contest at 1 p.m., or the ice cream eating contest at 2 p.m. Afterwards, dare to ride the midway, all day, for one low price. A special teen admission applies after 5 p.m. Get in for $5 with some form of identification. The day closes and night begins at the fairgrounds with country star Dierks Bentley and special guest Eric Church. Tickets are available now at tickets.com or at Tops Markets. America's Fair also offers loads of free entertainment for the whole family. A tradition at America's Fair, The Backyard Circus, returns for another year of entertainment for the kids, where the children become the stars of the circus. Parents can take a break at Stroller Square. The Slade Park Music Series gives adults a chance to relax and enjoy the tunes of Western New York talent that spans the genres of bluegrass, jazz, classic, and all sorts of ethnic music including Polish, Celtic, and Caribbean sounds. Don't forget about glamour at the Erie County Fairgrounds. Who is the Fairest of the Fair? Decide for yourself at the America's Fair Pageant at 2 p.m. Aug. 10. The competition will consist of a private interview, casual wear, and evening competitions, as well as on-stage questioning. Closing out the excitement of America's Fair 2006 is the World's Largest Demolition Derby. Taking place at 2 and 7 p.m. Aug. 20, the derby is held at the Grandstand. Tickets are $15.
