The event featured 15-minute chair massage, blood pressure screening and a variety of health-related presentations.

Dr. Herbert K.Y. Lau, owner of the firm located at 5859 Transit Road in the Transit Valley Plaza, Clarence, is first vice president of the Upstate Chapter of the New York Acupuncture Society.

Among his goals in holding office are to lobby for higher insurance reimbursement rates for acupuncture treatment of no fault and workman’s compensation cases, and raise the awareness and visibility of the profession.

He was awarded the highest recognition by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, a Diplomat in Chinese Medicine, in April 2004.
